Support for children and families in migration

Short description

Thousands of children living in Greek migration camps need psychological support!

Thousands of families with young children along with unaccompanied children live in the migration camps as well as in urban areas of Greece. They have limited opportunities for decent living and social well-being. The COVID-19 crisis exacerbates their already poor living conditions.

Children in camps are traumatized; they have no access to education or play. They urgently need psychological support.

SOS Children’s Villages grants children living in migration camps better-living conditions. Their goals are to:

1. expanding the psychosocial support activities in areas where families in migration are being transferred;
2. providing educational support for refugee/migrant children in Athens, in Thessaloniki, in Ioannina, and in Heraclion by facilitating access to technology and remote education;
3. training caregivers, educators and professionals on the field; and
4. organizing community-based activities for the integration of families in migration.
