Helping small businesses and self-employed professionals overcome the challenges of the pandemic and reactivate economy
The Lockdown Economy facilitates social dialogue among entrepreneurs to face the pandemic together. It consists of 1) the unique-format live interviews with micro- and small- business owners and self-employed professionals worldwide in English and local languages; and 2) the Academy which provides real-time education materials about entrepreneurship during the lockdown and pandemic to entrepreneurs and students worldwide.
It is a social innovation ecosystem that connects Micro- and Small- businesses (MSEs), universities, incubators, foundations, and conscious citizens. Potentially involving UN agencies, intergovernmental organizations, corporations, and investors. The Lockdown Economy helps discover and bring attention to the specific needs of micro- and small- businesses.

What we need help with
Our key priority right now is funding. We are a non-profit, so loans, investments, etc. are not the right type of financing for us. So far the Lockdown Economy is run on zero-budget with two people working full-time pro bono and a team of 70 part-time volunteers. To make sure we can continue the initiative and keep creating the social impact, we need to get funding. We are applying for grants but we could really use some help identifying the right opportunities, potential donors and beat ways to connect to them and present the initiative.
