Am currently working and supporting organised women and youth groups in enterpreneurship and business development in Uganda-EastAfrica.
The Corona virus has caused alot of disruption since these are farmers and small scale business people. The production processes and food security is highly affected as some cann’t access their gardens and work places due to the numerous government restrictions that involves amongs others staying home, bunned public tranport system and social distancing aspects. Marketing system has also been hampered as products cann’t be moved from production centres to the market and even in the market, the demand is so so low leading to endless losses and limited incomes.
Am here to network and also look for funding to help in supporting the group members and surrrounding communities with food supplies as an emergency measure, building an information sharing platform about the pandemic so that they don’t loose the patience due to prolonged lockdowns/restrictions. Also funds will be helpful to introduce and train members in using simple and appropriate technlogy including adoption of digital financial systems so that our program work goes online while they transact remotely.
